FAQ
Why do I need certification?
Certification means that you will have the base knowledge about safe diving and underwater swimming practices. When you swim with other mermaids, certification lets them know that they can trust you to hold your own and assist others in case of distress.
What is the class format?
The certification classes consist of two parts: a self-paced e-learning module and a 2-hour water session where you learn safety, basics of breathhold, advanced methods of breathhold training, mermaiding skills, training structure for mermaid competition, etc.
How do I book a private class?
Email merartswim@gmail.com with an inquiry about your goal. Include your name, date of birth, phone number, and preferred dates and times.
What equipment do I need?
General: swimwear and towel. For the Discover Mermaid and Basic Mermaid classes: bring mask and snorkel; mermaid tail and monofin can be rented from the instructor for $25. For the Mermaid and Advanced Mermaid, you should have a snorkel, mask, monofin, tail, and regular fins.
